| | When I start SANGEA, why do I get a blank screen after clicking “Enable Macros”? |
| | You are likely trying to open the SANGEA Addin file. You should now try to open the SANGEA Startup file or a SANGEA work file you have previously created |
| | When I try to open the SANGEA Startup File, why do I get the MicrosoftTM Visual Basic message: “Compile error: Can’t find project or library”? |
| | The SANGEA Addin file is not located in the same directory (folder) as your Startup file. Put the files in the same folder, and the Startup file should open properly. |
| | Why is it that SANGEA does not work properly with my Russian, French, Spanish or other non-English version of Excel? |
| | SANGEA was designed and tested with the English version of Excel and cannot be expected to function properly if non-English versions of Excel are used. |
| | When I open my SANGEA file, why do I receive a warning message that the file contains macros and that macros may contain viruses? |
| | This warning displays normally, depending on how your security settings are set. You must click the “Enable Macros” button for SANGEA to work properly. Also, your Excel Security Settings should be set to "medium" or "low." |
| | When I try to install an emissions module, why is it that the module I want does not appear on the list of choices? |
| | Most likely the module is already installed. You only need to install a module once for all of your emissions sources. |
| | When I try to remove an emissions module, why do I get an error message saying “No Modules Available for Removal”? |
| | SANGEA allows you to remove Emissions Modules for which no emission sources have been configured. If you wish to remove a module, you must first delete all of the emission sources that use this module. See Section 3.5.1.3 of the User Guide. |
| | Why can’t I remove a Location Group from the Spreadsheet Configuration tab of the Main Menu? |
| | Click on the File Maintenance tab of the Menu and you will have the option of removing an Unused Location Group. (All Locations must be removed from the Location Group before you can remove the sheet.) |
| | Why does SANGEA report my emissions from some sources as zero when I think these emissions are greater than zero? |
| | Change the "Emission Units" on the File Maintenance tab of the Main Menu to a smaller unit such as "pounds" or "kilograms." SANGEA output values are rounded to the nearest whole number or to one decimal place. If the Emission Units you are using are too large, the output will round to zero, even when there is a non-zero value. |
| | Why does SANGEA report my normalized emissions (emissions/Primary Production) as zero? |
| | Choose a larger unit for your Primary Production and/or a smaller unit for your Emissions Unit (see above). For example, instead of reporting tonnes/bbl, choose tonnes/million bbl. |
| | When I perform Step 6 on the Main Menu, Check Data Ready, why does the Signoff Test Error Report list missing data for the Primary Production Module when I did not install this module, and do not wish to use it? |
| | The Primary Production feature is installed automatically. It may be used for reporting production information for the API normalization index. If you do not wish to use it for this purpose, you can enter dummy data (e.g., 1) as input for each Location. |
| | When I enter a number greater than 1000, why does SANGEA insert a comma, rather than a period to separate the thousands, which is the convention in my country? |
| | SANGEA follows the convention of using the comma as the thousands separator and the period to indicate the decimal place. Thus, 1.500 is equal to 1 and 1/2, not fifteen hundred. |
| | Why can’t I remove a Secondary Production Measure? |
| | Secondary Production Measures can only be removed if they are not being used. Be sure none of your Locations is using the Secondary Production Measure before you try to remove it. |
| | Why is it that SANGEA does not seem to be correctly checking that all of my input data is present? |
| | This may occur if you are using Excel arrays to enter input data. It is best to avoid using Excel arrays in order to allow all of the verification functions to work correctly. |
| | Why does Excel crash after I open work file, close the file without closing Excel, and then try to reopen the file (I am using Excel 97)? |
| | If working with Excel 97 or 2000, close Excel after saving and closing the work file. The file will reopen properly. |
| | The top level of the Hierarchy on the Location Configuration screen contains more industry sectors than are used for API reporting. What should I do with them? |
| | At the time the SANGEA software was being finalized for distribution by API the set of industry sectors was still to be determined. Refer to API guidance (Definitions and Instructions) on which sectors to use, and ignore the other sectors contained in the Hierarchy list. |
| | I have configured a local fuel, which I wish to use in the flare module. When I try to configure my flare, however, why can’t I find this fuel listed among the choices available for this flare? |
| | When using local fuels in the flare module, SANGEA requires that the quantity of the gas flared and the composition of the gas be specified in the same way. Thus if you specify the composition of the local fuel on a mass basis, you can only use it to configure flares for which you specify the quantity of gas flared in mass units. Conversely, the gas composition should be specified on the basis of volume if you wish to input the volume of gas flared. |
