The SANGEATM User Guide was prepared by Battelle on behalf of API to provide step-by-step instructions for the SANGEA software. Chapter 1 introduces SANGEA and provides guidance to enable you to determine the most effective way for your company to assemble its data in SANGEA and report to API.

This User Guide describes the functionality, features, benefit and usage of SANGEA in a step-by-step fashion. The intended user is an individual working within a Reporting Entity, i.e., a company’s business unit or facility level entity. This User Guide does not cover a company’s aggregating of individual Reporting Entities’ emissions data. The latter is discussed in a separate SANGEA Corporate Aggregation Manual.

This User Guide does not serve as a primer on the science of climate change and GHG or on the chemical and process engineering aspects of fuel combustion and GHG emissions generation. It also does not cover the setting of organizational and operational boundaries. Users interested in these topics are referred to the featured links on the home page or key documents such as the API Compendium and the IPIECA Guidelines.
